Brown Capuchins (also known Tufted Capuchins) are very funny monkeys and always have an interesting expression, they are a challenge though: when they move they are fast and they nearly always move! I was lucky enough to catch this one in a relatively quiet moment with its expression of puzzlement. Was he watching a fly, some other zoo visitor wearing hilarious attires, another animal making a scene? I don’t remember so we’ll never know the truth, but you can let your imagination guess what it might have been.
Exposure optimisation and light noise reduction were applied, using detail extractor I’ve enhanced the details of the fur while flattening the lighting to open some of the shadows on the monkey and only slightly retouched the eyes.
