Crimson Sunbird at the Singapore Zoo

Image created on September 3, 2013 at the Singapore Zoo, with Canon EOS-1D Mark IV and Canon EF 300mm f/2.8L IS. ISO 1250, f/2.8, 1/320s, Evaluative metering +2/3 EV.

Frequent visitors of the Singapore Zoo will know that often crimson sunbirds come feeding on flower bushes close by the white-handed gibbons enclosure. As I went testing my new Canon EF 300mm f/2.8L IS at the Zoo, I heard this little fellow singing behind me and he let me approach a little to capture him before leaving. Crimson Sunbirds are often quite shy but the ones at the zoo seem to be a bit more tame and used to see people.
